Environmental Practices of Precast Concrete Manufacturing Companies in Mossoró-RN

Objective: To investigate the environmental practices adopted by precast concrete companies in Mossoró-RN. Theoretical Framework: Addresses the environmental impacts of the precast concrete system and the environmental management models adopted. The analysis is based on Law No. 6.938/1981, which establishes the National Environmental Policy, and CONAMA Resolution No. 01/1986, which deals with environmental impact assessment. Method: This study follows a qualitative approach with a deductive perspective and a descriptive purpose. It is classified as a case study and used questionnaires applied to eight managers of companies in the sector as a research instrument. Results and Discussion: Companies perform equipment maintenance to promote energy and water efficiency, encourage environmental practices, and have environmental managers. However, there are communication gaps regarding environmental practices for employees, particularly in the efficient use of water and energy resources and solid waste management. Research Implications: Discusses practical and theoretical implications, providing insights into how the findings can influence practices in Civil Engineering and Concrete Technology. Originality/Value: Contributes to the literature by investigating the landscape of companies in the sector, analyzing sustainability, technological innovation, and local economic impact. Its originality lies in the integrated approach to technical, environmental, and economic aspects.
