Objectives: The research topic and aims of the article is the study of the aspects and function of making mistakes in the Georgian educational space in the post-Soviet and modern eras, which influenced the professional choice and self-realization of individuals. What is the role of the concepts of mistakes and failure in the process of orientation and subsequently in the construction of a self-established identity; What is the influence of changes in historical, social, economic, public, cultural, educational, and worldview conditions when making a professional choice? It is interesting to determine to what extent the concepts of failure and mistakes influence the construction of self-determination of individuals within the framework of new social and educational approaches and how positively or negatively they participate in the process of self-realization. Theoretical framework: The research analyzed theoretical references to the topic of mistakes and failure as well as theories on the courage to make mistakes and to advance personal and professional development despite failure. Results and Discussion: The analysis of the sources discussed in the paper showed us the essential importance of the culture of mistakes and the necessity of a tolerant approach and acceptance of one's own mistakes and failures. That the courage to make mistakes can be accepted as a precursor to personal and professional growth, and its development should be laid at school. Research Implications: The research highlights, that in Georgia, despite the numerous reforms carried out or ongoing, the increase in the number of higher and vocational schools, and the attempts to offer professional lists tailored to the interests of young people, we still often meet young people who are dissatisfied with wrongly chosen professions or who have lost interest, who have great difficulty in choosing the profession they want and the appropriate professional to make a choice.
