Te/ZnIn2S4 nanoleaves with rich charge transport and high electron–hole separation efficiency for augmented visible-light-mediated hydrogen peroxide generation

Designing efficient photocatalysts for H2O2 synthesis in pure water remains a significant challenge. Herein, Te/ZnIn2S4 nanoleaves were constructed <i>via</i> an epitaxial growth strategy using Te nanowires (NWs) as seeds. Experimental results and series <i>in situ</i> spectroscopic characterization unveiled that the Te NWs serve as branches, enable rapid charge transport and promote effective separation of photogenerated electrons and holes, resulting in efficient visible-light-driven H2O2 production with a high yield of 1920 μmol g-1 h-1.
