Analysis of the Mechanism of Acupuncture Treatment for Refractory Facial Paralysis by the Method of Soothing the Liver and Strengthening the Spleen

Refractory facial paralysis, also known as intractable facial paralysis or severe facial paralysis, generally refers to the situation where, after the onset of facial paralysis, and with more than two months of treatment, there are still relatively severe symptoms of facial nerve damage. Refractory facial paralysis is usually caused by factors such as a relatively high level of nerve damage in the area affected by peripheral facial paralysis and untimely treatment. Although it does not pose a threat to life, it has a long-term impact on the appearance of patients, causing them to bear a serious psychological burden. For example, they may experience negative emotions such as mental stress, anxiety and fear, depression and restlessness, and a negative attitude towards life and work, bringing great pain to both patients and their families. Based on this, this article will analyze the mechanism of acupuncture treatment for refractory facial paralysis using the method of soothing the liver and strengthening the spleen, so as to provide a basis for subsequent clinical treatment.
