Effect of electrode rotation frequency on thickness and roughness of electrospark coatings
The article considers the urgent problem of obtaining the effective thickness and roughness of the electrospark coating layer, presents studies on the formation of the thickness and continuity of electrospark coatings depending on the specified processing modes of the electrospark installation with a change in the electrode rotation frequency. To increase the thickness of the electrospark coating, we will offer to optimize the values of the parameters of the SZ-8100 electrospark installation, such as: current al speed, voltage, current duty cycle and electrode rotation frequency. Determined the voltage and current duty cycle have a significant effect on the temperature mode of heating the surfacing electrode. Electrical erosion destruction of the electrode increases with increasing voltage, current frequency, and current duty cycle. An increase in the current duty cycle timp from 50 μs to 100 μs contributed to an increase in the thickness of the electrospark build-up by 0.78 mm, which amounted to an increase of 76 %. Determined that in case of increase of the electrode rotation frequency, the tops of formed irregularities are decreasing off by the rotating electrode because of this the rate of growth of the coating thickness slows down and productivity of the process decreases. The smallest thicknesses of the electrospark build-up received at low values of the current frequency at f = 50 Hz, in both modes of operation of the current duty cycle timp = 50 μs, timp = 100 μs and vary within the limits from 0.04 to 0.45 mm. This study will help to select the optimal values of the parameters of the electrospark installation, which in turn contributes to an increase in the productivity of the process and obtaining an effective thickness of the electrospark build-up.
