Study of weld metal crystallization mechanism during restorative welding and surfacing
The mechanisms of periodicity weld metal crystallization processes during welding are studied. It is found that the frequency of latent heat release is 12 Hz, and the frequency of impurity accumulation varied in the range of 90...136 Hz in the EI696A alloy. Possible mechanisms of effect for enhancing or suppressing periodicity are considered and identified. At the point where the maximum reduced penetration depth is reached (1.25 mm/kW), resonance conditions are realized that correspond to the frequency 300 Hz at the welding speed 15•10–3 m/s.
