Nanocarbon modifier introduction mechanism into aluminum melt
The modification process of aluminum alloys based on Al–Si system using nanocarbon charges as a modifier, such as nanotubes and fullerenes is considered, which can significantly improve the structural and mechanical properties of aluminum alloys. Various methods for introduction of nanocarbon are used as a basis, including the use a technological bell and an innovative rod, which allows for more efficient integration of modifiers into the melt. The results of metallographic analysis indicating an increase (decrease) in the sizes of primary crystals and eutectic needles and α-solid solution during modification are presented.
