LENGTH-WEIGHT RELATIONSHIP AND RELATIVE CONDITION FACTOR OF TENUALOSA ILISHA (HAMILTON, 1822) FROM FARAKKA, IN RIVER GANGA, WEST BENGAL, INDIA
This study analyzed the length-weight relationship (LWR) and relative condition factor (Kn) of Tenualosa ilisha from 2021 to 2023 in the downstream of the Farakka Barrage, based on 1,500 samples (15-30 cm, 6-36.3 g).The regression coefficient (b) ranged from 2.6 to 3.1, with R values of 0.82-0.96and Kn between 1.008-1.038.These results denote the species' well-being, ecology, and demographic patterns, aiding in the effective management and conservation of Hilsa populations.
