Realization functors in algebraic triangulated categories
Abstract Let $${\mathcal {T}}$$ <mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML"> <mml:mi>T</mml:mi> </mml:math> be an algebraic triangulated category and $${\mathcal {C}}$$ <mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML"> <mml:mi>C</mml:mi> </mml:math> an extension-closed subcategory with $${{\,\textrm{Hom}\,}}({\mathcal {C}}, \Sigma ^{<0} {\mathcal {C}})=0$$ <mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML"> <mml:mrow> <mml:mrow> <mml:mspace/> <mml:mtext>Hom</mml:mtext> <mml:mspace/> </mml:mrow> <mml:mo>(</mml:mo> <mml:mi>C</mml:mi> <mml:mo>,</mml:mo> <mml:msup> <mml:mi>Σ</mml:mi> <mml:mrow> <mml:mo><</mml:mo> <mml:mn>0</mml:mn> </mml:mrow> </mml:msup> <mml:mi>C</mml:mi> <mml:mo>)</mml:mo> <mml:mo>=</mml:mo> <mml:mn>0</mml:mn> </mml:mrow> </mml:math> . Then $${\mathcal {C}}$$ <mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML"> <mml:mi>C</mml:mi> </mml:math> has an exact structure induced from exact triangles in $${\mathcal {T}}$$ <mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML"> <mml:mi>T</mml:mi> </mml:math> . Keller and Vossieck say that there exists a triangle functor $$\operatorname {D}^{b}({\mathcal {C}}) \rightarrow {\mathcal {T}}$$ <mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML"> <mml:mrow> <mml:msup> <mml:mo>D</mml:mo> <mml:mi>b</mml:mi> </mml:msup> <mml:mrow> <mml:mo>(</mml:mo> <mml:mi>C</mml:mi> <mml:mo>)</mml:mo> </mml:mrow> <mml:mo>→</mml:mo> <mml:mi>T</mml:mi> </mml:mrow> </mml:math> extending the inclusion $${\mathcal {C}} \subseteq {\mathcal {T}}$$ <mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML"> <mml:mrow> <mml:mi>C</mml:mi> <mml:mo>⊆</mml:mo> <mml:mi>T</mml:mi> </mml:mrow> </mml:math> . We provide the missing details for a complete proof.
