REGULATORY IMPACT ON INNOVATION IN THE WATER SANITATION SECTOR

The article analyzes the state of implementation of innovative policy inthe area of water supply and sanitation, the problems and reasons for introducing newtechnologies into state regulation in the area of water sanitation. The general structureof the stages of implementing innovative methods of wastewater management ispresented. The methods of state regulation of water supply and sanitation are studied andthe latest innovations in state regulation of water supply are considered. The problems that affect the state of innovations in the area of water sanitation are identified. TheEuropean experience of implementing and regulating state innovations in water supplyand sanitation is analyzed using data from the International Water Association and theEuropean Water Innovation Platform, priority areas of innovation in water supply andsanitation and obstacles to the development of innovations in this area. It is noted thatinnovation policy should become one of the principles of state regulation in the field ofwater supply and sanitation, defining such clear elements as: safe water supply,professional training, service quality management, risk management.
