Analysis of Centrifugal Pump Flow Characteristics According to Impeller/Volute Shape

The design of pumps for rocket engines significantly impacts the efficiency and performance of the engine, making high-performance pump design essential. This study focuses on the oxidizer pump for a 500 N-class rocket engine and aims to evaluate pump performance and efficiency through computational analysis based on 3D geometry design.Several pump geometries were designed by varying the hub shape, blade inlet angle, and volute width, and their performance variations and flow characteristics were analyzed. The FL_S pump demonstrated good performance regardless of the volute width, while the IN_S_V1 pump exhibited superior efficiency. , . 500 N , 3D . , , .FL_S , IN_S_V1 .
