Digital Innovation, Employment and Poverty Reduction in Nigeria

This study explores the role of digital innovation in reducing poverty in Nigeria, focusing on its impact on employment creation and financial inclusion, while identifying access barriers in rural and urban areas. Using a descriptive survey design, data were gathered from 300 respondents through online and in-person questionnaires. The findings revealed a positive relationship between digital technologies and poverty alleviation, particularly in improving financial access and job opportunities. However, challenges such as poor infrastructure, low digital literacy, and socio-economic constraints persist, especially in rural communities. The study recommends targeted investments in digital infrastructure, digital literacy programs, and inclusive policies to bridge the digital divide and support equitable access to technology for sustainable economic growth.
