ВЗАИМОВЛИЯНИЕ ИКОНОГРАФИИ ЖИВОПИСИ И ИСКУССТВЕННОГО ИНТЕЛЛЕКТА

Iconography, as the study of symbols and themes in visual arts, is a key tool for understanding the cultural and historical context of paintings. With the development of artificial intelligence (AI), particularly in the fields of computer vision and generative models, new opportunities and challenges arise for iconographic analysis and even the creation of works with specified symbolic content. This article explores the potential of AI for automatic recognition of iconographic elements in painting, using modern computer art as an example. It analyzes their semantic relationships and frequency of use in large image datasets. The article discusses methods for applying AI to assist art historians in attribution, dating, and interpreting works through iconographic analysis. It also explores the possibilities of using generative AI models to create new images that adhere to specific iconographic canons or reinterpret them. Finally, the article examines the limitations of contemporary AI systems in understanding deep context, cultural codes, and the polysemy of symbols, highlighting the need for synergy between algorithmic methods and human expertise.
