Seeking alternative research agendas for journalism and media studies
The Journal of Applied Journalism & Media Studies wants to become the scholarly space in which people find the initial ideas and works that lead to paradigm shifts in journalism and media studies. For this, it needs to be a publication in which scholars and experts find the spark that allows them to re-conceptualize the most pressing issues and phenomena in the field. In so doing, the journal seeks to incentivize alternative research agendas for journalism and media studies that incorporates voices from all over the world, one that challenges traditional world-views and brings about topics and agendas that are simply not being debated sufficiently. We remain committed to incorporate the voices of practitioners and scholars from the global south and, in these difficult times, secure diversity and inclusion in both the authors and the ideas.
