Modeling of Electroflotation Process to Improve Water Purification Efficiency
This paper discusses the process of electroflotation wastewater treatment. The developed model of the electroflotation process is presented based on Ksenofontov's multi-stage flotation theory, taking into account Faraday's laws of electrolysis. A theoretical calculation of this model is performed, which allows to determine the duration of the wastewater treatment process more accurately, taking into account the main parameters affecting the intensity of the electroflotation process. Based on the obtained theoretical and experimental data, an improved electroflotation process diagram is presented, which allows to significantly reduce energy costs in this purification method. With the help of such a diagram and combined purification equipment developed on its basis, it is possible to achieve high efficiency of treated wastewater clarification, compactness of the equipment and at the same time significantly reduce operating costs associated with high energy consumption during the electroflotation process due to a decrease in current density, but an increase in the number of air bubbles using a pneumatic aeration system installed between the electrodes.
