Possible Benefits of Thermal Load for Energy Flexibility in Off-Grid Power Systems Energy Service

Isolated settlements have high cost of electricity and heat energy, and often only social enterprises have access to centralized heat supply. The paper considers the modernization of the energy system of the Chuvanskoye settlement with an emphasis on the use of thermal energy storage as a way to increase the energy flexibility of systems with renewable energy sources. The transition to electric heating with Thermal energy storages and the ability to regulate the heat load for 5% of houses will reduce the cost of energy by 40%, and when using heat pumps - by 50%. In the optimal version of the energy system, a significant increase in energy consumption due to the transition to electric heating will not only not lead to an increase in fuel consumption, but will also reduce dependence on it by 70% due to the use of energy from renewable sources.
