Simulation and Analysis of the Temperature Field Effect on Deposition of the Photonic Crystal Films Through Self-Assembly
The paper considers results of simulation and subsequent thermal analysis of a colloidal system used to obtain the colloidal photonic crystal films. Structure of such films is a matrix of the ordered colloidal microspheres; its geometry is formed due to the self-assembly phenomenon. The paper presents methods of external influence on the colloidal system. The necessity of its thermal analysis is substantiated, since one of the factors determining the result of self-organization is the temperature in the system, in general, and in the film deposition area, in particular. During thermal analysis, the Navier-Stokes equation and energy conservation law were used, simulation itself was performed in the Comsol Multiphysics. As a result of identifying regularities, practical recommendations were formulated for design of the equipment, its configuration, and implementation of the film deposition process.
