3D Reconstruction and Parameterization of Chest Anatomy for Electrical Impedance Analysis
This manual is designed to simulate the electrical conductivity measurement of chest tissue, with the objective of evaluating the influence of anatomical features on the electrical characteristics of breathing. A three-dimensional model of the chest has been constructed, incorporating various structures - internal organs. The model is based on parameterized CT scans, which allows to create the model of the chest and the distribution of electrical resistances. This model was studied in the COMSOL Multiphysics simulation environment with simulation of 100kHz current exposure. Segmentation was performed in the Sante DICOM tomography file visualization program. In this software, measuring instruments were used to determine the dimensions of lungs. Simulation results were used to calculate potential values for the tetrapolar electrode deposition method were obtained, and the base impedance of the chest was calculated. These values were compared with results of measuring the impedance on volunteers using multichannel REO-32 (1) system.
