Efficient all-optical wavelength conversion in low-loss silicon waveguides within the 2-μm waveband

We experimentally demonstrate mid-infrared wavelength conversion in silicon waveguides over a wavelength range of 314.9 nm, achieving a conversion efficiency of up to - 12.09 dB. All-optical wavelength conversion of 10-Gbit/s data signal is achieved within the 2-μm waveband, with a power penalty of 2.56 dB.

Abstract

We experimentally demonstrate mid-infrared wavelength conversion in silicon waveguides over a wavelength range of 314.9 nm, achieving a conversion efficiency of up to - 12.09 dB. All-optical wavelength conversion of 10-Gbit/s data signal is achieved within the 2-μm waveband, with a power penalty of 2.56 dB.
