Investigation of Heat Exchange Between a Pipe in the Ground and the Surrounding Air Using Numerical Methods
In the modern world, the problem of steam disposal is becoming more and more urgent. This article discusses one of the possible technologies for steam utilization - an installation designed to produce condensate by cooling steam and condensing it. To evaluate the efficiency of the installation, mathematical modeling of the process of heat propagation in the ground was carried out. Calculations were performed for various operating conditions of the installation, such as the intensity of the heat flow, the initial temperature distribution and the thermal conductivity of the soil. A number of patterns affecting the efficiency of the installation have been identified. Thus, mathematical modeling of the process of heat propagation in the ground makes it possible to evaluate the efficiency of the installation for producing condensate from steam. The results obtained can be used in the design and operation of such installations.
