Gesture-based File Management and Painting Application using Human Computer Interaction

Using a gesture-based file management and painting application, this paper introduces a novel approach to human-computer interaction (HCI). By leveraging computer vision and machine learning techniques, the system enables users to perform tasks such as file manipulation and digital painting using intuitive hand gestures. The proposed system eliminates the need for traditional input devices like a mouse or keyboard, offering an accessible and immersive interaction paradigm. Key features include gesture-based navigation, file organization, resizing, and a dynamic canvas for painting with virtual brushes. The application incorporates real-time hand gesture recognition using a webcam, supported by algorithms capable of detecting and interpreting various hand movements with high accuracy. The system aims to enhance user experience by making digital tasks more natural and engaging, catering to diverse user needs, including accessibility for individuals with physical impairments. Experimental results demonstrate the system's effectiveness, with a high recognition rate for predefined gestures and seamless performance in real-world scenarios. The gesture-based application signifies a step forward in the field of HCI, opening avenues for innovative interaction methods across industries like education, art, and accessibility tools.
