Investigation of Dielectric Nanoparticles in Optically Transparent Liquid Solution by Static Light Scattering

The paper discusses the application of the static light scattering method to determine the size distribution function of dielectric nanoparticles in optically transparent liquid solution. A model of an optical-electronic complex was developed, and an experimental procedure was established, enabling the measurement of the relative angular distribution of the intensity of scattered laser radiation on particles of three different substances (Fe<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">2</inf>O<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">3</inf>, TiO<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">2</inf>, Al<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">2</inf>O<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">3</inf>) under two orthogonal polarization states. An algorithm for processing experimental images of the probing laser beam in scattered light was developed, along with a program for simulating the angular distribution of scattered radiation intensity. Using this program, the inverse light scattering problem was solved, and the size distribution function was reconstructed for the selected colloidal solutions.
