Phase Center Errors and Noise Power Impact on DOA Estimation for Elliptical Antenna Arrays
This paper investigates the performance of the Root-MUSIC and Minimum Variance Distortionless Response (MVDR) algorithms for Direction of Arrival (DOA) estimation using elliptical digital antenna arrays (DAA) under various error conditions. In particular, the errors for DOA estimating of the incoming wave sources from the directions of [0,40] and [20,0] degrees in the presence of element position errors, as well as the errors when the signal-to-noise ratio decreases in similar angular directions were estimated. The power of the pseudospectrum was further analyzed at SNR of -8 dB. Additionally, changes in the Spurious-Free Dynamic Range (SFDR) were studied for angular directions of two incoming source.
