A Study of the Parameters of a Fire-Tube Boiler Using Hydrogen-Containing Gas
This paper highlights the problem of carbon dioxide (CO<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">2</inf>) emissions, which can be solved by increasing the proportion of hydrogen (H2) in fuels. The effect of the H2 content in the fuel on the combustion process is considered, and the beneficial use of waste gas from petroleum refineries is reviewed. The design and principle of operation of three-pass fire-tube hot-water boiler brand VIESSMANN Vitomax 200HW and burner device “Weishaupt” G70/3-A-ZM-NR (W-FM 100/200) are studied. Calculations of the combustion process and each heat exchange surface of the boiler have been carried out. According to the obtained results it is possible to draw a conclusion that increase of hydrogen fraction in fuel up to 70-85% will allow to reduce CO<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">2</inf>emissions into the atmosphere by 40-55% and increase boiler efficiency up to 1.5%.
