High Modulation Linearity of Double Injection Microring Fano Modulators

An optimal Fano double-injection microring modulator is tuned by controlling the phase difference between the two electric fields injected into the ring, along with fine-tuning the operating wavelength of the ring modulator. The measured spurious free dynamic range (SFDR) exceeds that of a commercial LiNbO3 modulator.

Abstract

An optimal Fano double-injection microring modulator is tuned by controlling the phase difference between the two electric fields injected into the ring, along with fine-tuning the operating wavelength of the ring modulator. The measured spurious free dynamic range (SFDR) exceeds that of a commercial LiNbO3 modulator.
