Study of Temperature Dependence of Liver Tissue Relaxation Frequency During Radiofrequency Ablation

Continuous temperature control during radiofrequency ablation allows to reduce the risk of undesirable consequences, increase the area of destroyed tissue and reduce the procedure duration and tenderness. However, existing methods of temperature control have a number of disadvantages. Some of them, as expected, can be solved by the method of the relaxation frequency assessment. In this work, the application of this method was simulated for the case of radiofrequency ablation of the liver. The correlation coefficients of the tissue relaxation frequency and the maximum temperature in the treatment zone were estimated. The local stability of this dependence was also assessed for various thermoelectric characteristics of the liver presented in the literature.
