Organization of HF Communications Over Overhead Power Lines Without Using Connection Devices
This paper is described a fundamentally new technology of the locating method and equipment for monitoring damage and ice on the wires of overhead power lines (power lines) with a voltage of 35 - 330 kV. This approach can be performed as follows: a) using a suspended locator, placed on the phase wire of a high-voltage power line, and receiving power from its current; b) using the injection of a reflectometer pulse onto a phase wire using a so-called gamma matching device (gamma transformer). By modeling in the PSCAD program, the properties of the gamma matching device were studied. The advantages of the proposed method of locational monitoring of power lines over monitoring methods using HF processing of power lines used today are shown.
