The Gamma Distribution for Modeling a Two-Point Bend of a Multilayer Rod

In this article, the hypothesis expressed in previous works about the superior applicability of the Weibull distribution to explain the results of this experiment has been debunked: the gamma distribution applies very well and it significantly reduces the total variance of the distribution when maximum likelihood estimates are used. It was carried out by estimating the parameters of the gamma distribution using three methods: maximum likelihood, moments and least squares. Considering the model, the data obtained from it can be applied in a variety of ways, such as a more convenient way to analyse the reliability characteristics, simpler ways to calculate the tensions in fibre bundles, the tensions of torsion by lantern machine can be easily calculated and so on. The model is expected to be used in the device performing two-point bending as a primary generic model for experiments in air, it is the most obvious its implementation.
