Determination of the Characteristics of the Wing of an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle for Conducting Inspections at Energy Facilities

The article is devoted to the study of the possibilities of using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) with vertical takeoff in the energy sector for inspections at energy facilities. Promising areas of use for such UAVs are being considered, as well as key aerodynamic characteristics that are necessary for their successful application in this industry. The article discusses the results of the authors' own research, showing that the maximum value of lift is achieved at an angle of attack of about 5–6 degrees, which corresponds to an aerodynamic drag coefficient of 0.145. In operating mode, the aerodynamic drag coefficient of the aircraft is expected to reach 0.045. These data make it possible to assess the serviceability of the UAV's mechanical retractable beam system and can be useful in developing and optimizing aircraft designs to achieve maximum lift with minimal air resistance.

Promising areas of use for such UAVs are being considered, as well as key aerodynamic characteristics that are necessary for their successful application in this industry.
