Design of Natural Circulation Evaporator for Intermediate Level Radioactive Liquid Waste Treatment: Modeling, Control and Optimization Studies
In this paper, a REAL-TIME temperature, level and concentration control system of Natural Circulation Evaporator for Intermediate Level Radioactive Liquid Waste Treatment is presented. A Mathematical model represented the evaporator is developed and simulated using MATLAB© program. The main purpose of the evaporator control for our case is achieving the target volume reduction factor for the concentrate of the waste. The control system is based on the microcontroller ATMega328P. The optimization of the operational parameters are investigated by conducting multi-variant analysis following Response Surface Mythology method, to allow for effective control on the provided heat energy, and influent initial concentrations of temperature and volume. The test results show that the model validation and verification are assured that the simulation model is representing real evaporation process and the set of equations model are accurately implemented.
