Research on China’s Inter Provincial Spot Market Clearing Algorithm Considering Bi-directional Trading

With the development of China’s new power system and the large-scale integration of renewable energy, the balance dynamics of the power system have undergone significant changes. This has led to a substantial increase in the demand for short-cycle and frequent adjustments of electricity trading across provinces. Inter-provincial spot trading has emerged as a critical mechanism to enhance the flexibility of inter-provincial markets, playing a vital role in ensuring power security, reliable supply, and the effective utilization of renewable energy. However, the current inter-provincial spot trading framework predominantly relies on unidirectional trading paths and matching transaction methods, which limits its algorithmic capability to meet the evolving demands of the new power system. To address these challenges, this study proposes an optimized inter-provincial spot trading clearing algorithm designed for complex network bidirectional trading. The algorithm incorporates inter-provincial network security constraints and operational conditions, simulates bidirectional trading paths through the construction of a mirror network, and employs a mixed integer linear programming (MILP) approach to solve the optimization problem. The effectiveness of the proposed algorithm has been validated using practical examples based on typical daily scenarios, demonstrating its potential to adapt to the complexities of the new power system.
