Maximum torque-to-current ratio control of permanent magnet synchronous motor parameters under differentiated operating conditions

This study focuses on the Maximum Torque per Ampere (MTPA) control strategy for Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors (PMSM) in electric vehicles under diverse operating conditions. By conducting an in-depth analysis of the PMSM mathematical model and integrating voltage and current constraints, a control method based on extremum equations for MTPA is proposed. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed strategy effectively reduces energy consumption across all speed scenarios, with particularly notable improvements under low-speed and high-acceleration conditions. Compared with the traditional control, the energy consumption per unit mileage is reduced by $7.58 \%, 3.12 \%, 3.17 \%$ and $2.37 \%$ in the speed zones of $35 \mathrm{~km} / \mathrm{h}, 50 \mathrm{~km} / \mathrm{h}, 70 \sim 100 \mathrm{~km} / \mathrm{h}$ and $100 \sim 120 \mathrm{~km} / \mathrm{h}$, respectively, and the motor loss is optimised, which provides both theoretical and practical support for the enhancement of energy efficiency of electric vehicle drive motors.
