Feedback Control of a Three State Switching Cell Boost Converter Using Model Reference Adaptive Control

The work in this paper studies the feedback control of a non-isolated three state switching cell boost (3-SSC B) topology. The various topologies of dc-dc converters are investigated throughout the research domain due to their wide range of distinct applications. The more dominant in application is its use as an interfacing element between DC and AC. With the introduction of Micro Grid concept, use of these converters has taken an exponential growth. The control design for such converters is complicated due to the inherent nonlinearity present in the system. This paper had made an effort to stabilize the converter's state and design a control law using the Model Reference Adaptive Control (MRAC) scheme. The alternative control designed is the conventional PI controller. The results and analysis are established using the MATLAB/SIMULINK software.
