Performance Evaluation of SDRs for Receiving GOES-16 Satellite Digital Images
This paper evaluates the performance of the NESDR SMArtee XR, HackRF One, and ADALM-PLUTO devices to receive images from the GOES-16 satellite. A radio link was established with this satellite, and a signal-to-noise ratio of 5.9 dB was obtained. The HackRF One equipment achieved a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of 7.45 dB. For the NESDR SMArtee XR equipment, an SNR of 8.15 dB was achieved, and for the ADALM-PLUTO equipment, an SNR of 10.85 dB was achieved. This SNR is reflected in the improvement when receiving the GOES 16 satellite image with the ADALM-Pluto equipment.
