Health Mate : A Wearable Health Monitoring Device

The system overview, design, implementation, and results of a real-time health monitoring system based on Arduino Uno micro controller, MAX30100 sensor, ESP32 module, and Blynk IoT platform are described in this paper. The goal of the system is to fulfill the needs of constant heart rate and blood oxygen levels (SpO2) monitoring in order to enhance personal health caregiving and to make possible medical assistance in case of any emergencies. The MAX30100 sensor is employed to process and measure accurately and effectively both the heart rate and the Sp02 levels in conjunction with the Arduino Uno micro controller. With the help of the ESP32 module, wireless data transfer has been made possible where the sensor data is sent to Blynk application for visualization and alerts on mobile devices in real time. The system uses Twilio API to send out SMS alerts to pre-set emergency contacts with a map coordinating the actual location of the user via Google Maps API. This ensures that the medical services can be informed and directed to the precise location of the user as required. The system developed web based application provides a very easy to use structure for continuous health monitoring, analysis of previous data as well as appreciation of any emergency. The system was put through several tests under various real-life conditions and it was proven to function suitably and reliably in health monitoring and generating emergency alarms. The findings show that the system can greatly reduce the time taken to respond to emergency health situations which can result in incalculable reductions in losses by way of early medical attention. This project contributes to the field of IoT-based health monitoring systems, offering a scalable and cost-effective solution for personal health management and emergency response.
