Low-Profile Dual-Band Antenna for C-Band and X-Band Wireless Communication

This paper presents the design and performance evaluation of a compact dual-band microstrip patch antenna optimized for C-band (6.6 GHz) and X-band (8.5 GHz) applications. The proposed antenna integrates flipped Z-shaped slots to achieve precise dual-band resonance while maintaining a compact form factor. A full ground plane structure and Rogers RO5880 substrate are utilized to enhance radiation efficiency, impedance matching, and gain. The antenna is designed with a microstrip feedline to ensure optimal power transfer and minimal signal reflection. Simulation results demonstrate an excellent return loss of -68.317 dB at 6.6 GHz and -33.218 dB at 8.5 GHz, indicating strong impedance matching. The proposed design also achieves a gain of 7.015 dBi at 6.6 GHz and 5.312 dBi at 8.5 GHz, making it well-suited for satellite communication, radar systems, and high-frequency wireless applications.
