Abortion Follow-Up Framework for Healthcare Management
Post-abortion care is the medical treatment process for ensuring the well-being and recovery of patients after abortion. Nevertheless, gathering information from the discharged patients to assess and monitor potential complications can be challenging. In this paper, we propose designing and implementing healthcare management tool to enable the self-assessment of discharged patient to identify her post-abortion condition and provide an opportunity for healthcare officers to surveillance the potential complications of patients after abortion. The objective is to establish a methodology for actively interacting between discharged patients and the healthcare officer. The abortion follow-up framework facilitates the healthcare officers to collect the discharged patient conditions and automatically assess potential complications and diseases associated with post-abortion recovery. The discharged patients will receive a post-abortion guideline along with an individualized quick response code to access the self-assessment feature. The participants are ninetytwo abortion patients who have approved consent for sensitive data collection as volunteers for preliminary use. The self-assessment result demonstrates that twenty-two abnormal cases required the healthcare officer to observe the early warning sign of potential complications during post-abortion surveillance. The abnormal cases are 14.23 percent of the first follow-up time and 9.78 percent of the second follow-up time. The positive feedback and high average Likert scale ratings received from respondents illustrate a very satisfactory level after using the framework.
