IoT-Enabled Hybrid Energy Harvesting System using Piezoelectric and Thermoelectric Transducer for Efficient Lighting Systems

The main aim of this proposed system is to reduce the utilization of off-grid lighting, energy bills, and carbon footprints. The Compact Piezoelectric Transducer (CPET) employs a 25mm PZT plate, easier to deploy than the 50mm PZT and 700mm2 rubber pad used in standard systems. The Thermoelectric Transducer (TEC 12706) using Bismuth Telluride delivers 6W for 3 hours, whereas the current system is based on a 50mm PZT in series with three modules and a bespoke TET system with an externally powered 1000W lamp. The hardware setup Produced enough electricity to operate a 6W LED light for 3 hours per day and the energy management circuit achieved an 85% efficiency, while IoT connectivity proposed for immediate observation. Based on the detailed study it is observed that the proposed method is superior to this existing method in terms of energy efficiency.
