The Development of Prototype Application to Apply Augmented Reality with Alloy Wheel Business
This research develops a prototype application that employs Augmented Reality (AR) technology to enhance the alloy wheel business in Thailand. As the automotive industry grows, the demand for customizable alloy wheels increases, yet traditional selection methods are often time-consuming. This study addresses these challenges by creating an AR application for Android devices, enabling car owners to visualize different alloy wheel designs on their vehicles in real time. Utilizing the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC), the application was developed with Blender for 3D modeling, Vuforia Engine for marker detection, and Unity for scripting. Ten alloy wheel models were created, and user satisfaction evaluations indicated a positive reception. The findings suggest that the AR application significantly improves customer experience and decision-making efficiency in selecting alloy wheels. This research highlights the potential of AR technology in the automotive aftermarket and recommends further development of additional 3D models and optimization for various devices.
