Theoretical Study of Refractive Index Sensing of Glucose Using Surface Plasmon Resonance Sensor
The new Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) sensor proposed in this paper is designed for non-invasive glucose detection in urine samples, providing an alternative to conventional blood-based glucose monitoring techniques. The N-layer model has been used to compute the reflectance of p-polarized incident light for the most prevalent Kretschmann configuration. A 141.66 deg/RIU sensitivity with FoM of 38.38 RIU-1 has been observed. Future research could concentrate on shrinking the sensor for incorporation into portable devices to provide continuous and real-time glucose monitoring.
