Design of a Temperature Dependent Industrial Lighting
This paper investigates the impact of high ambient temperatures on LED-based industrial lighting systems and proposes an optimized thermal management approach to enhance efficiency, longevity, and performance. Industrial environments such as thermal power plants, metal manufacturing units, and pumping stations experience extreme temperatures exceeding 60°C, which significantly affect LED luminous output, efficiency, and durability. The study analyzes the degradation of LED performance due to thermal stress and evaluates heat dissipation techniques, including heat pipe integration and optimized driver designs. Experimental results demonstrate that proper thermal management can mitigate efficiency losses, extend LED lifespan, and improve overall energy savings. The findings provide a framework for designing reliable high-temperature LED lighting systems for industrial applications.
