Structured Buck-Boost Approach for Multi-Phase Power Conversion
DC-DC converter designs have come a long way due to the increasing requirement for efficient power conversion, particularly in multiphase interleaved converters. Sequential buck-boost topology, in which the buck and boost are combined to permit voltage step-down and step-up with a positive output, is investigated in this paper in terms of interleaved converters. Interleaving enhances thermal performance, reduces current ripple, and maximizes efficiency [1]. The research enlightens the nature of this topology, its application in multiphase uses, and its advantages in areas such as high-efficiency power supply, renewable energy, and electric vehicles (EVs) [2]. Implementation challenges on control systems, for instance, current regulation and phase-shifted duty cycles, are also addressed in the study [3]. Experimental results are analyzed, and real-world concepts are conceived for the use of the sequential buck-boost interleaved converter in practical applications [4].
