VANET-based Ambulance Alert System for Vicinity Vehicles
This research presents a comprehensive approach to improving emergency response efficiency in urban environments through a VANET-Based Ambulance Alert System. Traffic congestion often delays ambulances, posing serious risks to critical patients. To address this, we leverage V2V communication using RYLR998 transceiver modules and ESP32 microcontrollers to detect ambulances and transmit real time alerts to nearby vehicles. These alerts, delivered through visual and auditory cues, enhance driver awareness and encourage yielding, facilitating quicker emergency response. Our methodology includes analyzing emergency response times, developing and testing the system, collecting and analyzing data, and implementing public awareness initiatives. By improving emergency vehicle navigation and reducing accident risks, this system contributes to safer roads and supports the adoption of smart transportation solutions in urban settings.
