Maximizing Signal Range and Endurance in Military Wristband Antenna System

In modern military operations, secure and reliable communication is essential for mission success, ensuring accurate information exchange and potentially saving lives. Soldiers often face harsh conditions such as moisture, sweat, and intense physical activity, requiring communication systems that are both durable and efficient. Additionally, these systems must support location tracking and recognition for enhanced situational awareness. To address these requirements, a high-performance wristband antenna has been developed, operating at a 50 GHz frequency with a broad bandwidth of 10 dB. Unlike conventional communication devices, this wristband antenna is compact, wearable, and designed to withstand environmental challenges, ensuring long-term durability without compromising performance. The antenna is engineered to achieve peak gain at 0 degrees, with a directivity of 5.4365 dB and a VSWR of 1.4363. Constructed using silicon as the primary material and an FR4 substrate for structural support, it provides a balance of robustness and efficiency. A prototype has been developed,in ANSYS HFSS software and simulated tests have confirmed its performance in both planar and conformal configurations, demonstrating its effectiveness across various operational environments.
