IoT-based Fuel Integrity Monitoring System for Automobiles
Fuel adulteration is a significant issue that affects vehicle performance, engine longevity, and environmental safety. Contaminants present in adulterated fuel not only degrade fuel quality but also contribute to increased fire accidents and incomplete combustion which causes harmful gas emissions. Reports from the national road safety department indicate a sharp rise in fire incidents due to fuel adulteration, highlighting the need for an efficient detection system. The proposed IoT-based fuel quality detection system addresses this issue by analyzing key fuel parameters density and temperature to determine adulteration levels. Using a load cell and temperature sensor, the system accurately measures these parameters and displays the adulteration percentage on an LCD screen, alerting consumers to potential fuel scams. By ensuring fuel purity, this system enhances vehicle engine efficiency, prevents premature engine failure, and mitigates fire hazards. The implementation of this system contributes to safer transportation, reduced environmental impact, and increased consumer awareness regarding fuel quality.
