Design Adaptive Controller for EV Bidirectional Converter with Renewables
The paper aimed at EVs, prioritizing fine-grained control over electric vehicles' charging and discharging procedures by predetermined reference values. The electric vehicle operates G2V and V2G modes of operation. Additionally, a photovoltaic (PV) system is integrated with the grid to facilitate renewable energy sharing. To enhance battery performance during both charging and discharging cycles, a combined PI and SMC are implemented across both control strategies. In G2V mode, the battery is charged using energy from the conventional AC grid as well as the PV system. During V2G operation, power from both the EV battery and the PV system is delivered to the AC load, effectively reducing the demand on the grid. A Full-Bridge Converter governed by PI-SMC control and a VSC managed by an SRF controller is employed to stabilize the DC-Link voltage and ensure reliable power delivery to the AC load. The system was modeled in MATLAB/Simulink and validated through real-time testing on an OP-4500 platform under SIL conditions.
