Global Maximum Power Point Extraction using SEPIC Converter for Agriculture Farming Purposes

This proposed system is designed to develop and enhance a SEPIC converter-based solar charger that delivers a constant DC output. It achieves this by integrating soil moisture sensing, along with a relay and water pump, to facilitate IoT capabilities and enable automated, real-time control of irrigation processes. The converter is of the SEPIC converter type with PI control for stable voltage regulation. Optimized power performance is achieved by using a PIC microcontroller. Sensors for soil moisture levels allow control of the pumps and real-time monitoring through an Android application based on IoT. It was designed so that the system would use solar energy very efficiently and give stable output regarding the voltage produced. Automated irrigation, based on the moisture present in the soil, saves water. It monitors in real time using IoT and enhances control and efficiency over the system of a user. The SEPIC-based solar charger with IoT-based automation is the right application in the agricultural and domestic sectors because it reduces dependency on the supply of a grid and also brings smart irrigation under its domain, enhancing both energy and water management.
