INTERNET OF THINGS DEVICES, ROLE-BASED ACCESS CONTROL SYSTEM, AND EFFICIENT DATA SECURITY AND MANAGEMENT IN HEALTHCARE SECTOR
As the 21st century security challenges persist in the healthcare sector, it is worthwhile for result-oriented and problem-solving measures to be devised and deployed for lasting solutions. To that end, this study proposes significant leveraging of IoT devices for efficient security and data management in the healthcare sector. The study’s proposed and developed novel web-based architecture, regarded as “Role Based Access Control (RBAC), can ensure efficient security and data management in the healthcare sector, if implemented. The model, which involves using IoT devices for implementation can restrict unauthorized persons from accessing critical healthcare data. The security of the architecture has been implemented and tested to show the efficiency of protecting healthcare data using IoT devices at a significant extent. Therefore, IoT devices and RBAC are recommended to stakeholders in healthcare sector for the attainment of efficiency in data security and management.
