FEATURES AND PROSPECTS OF AGRICULTURAL DEVELOPMENT IN URBAN AGGLOMERATIONS OF RUSSIA

The article examines the features of agricultural development in urban agglomerations of Russia (using the example of three agglomerations, including the municipalities that make up them). It was revealed that a significant volume of agricultural production is concentrated in these agglomerations (in 2023, the Vologda agglomeration accounted for 50% of the region's agricultural production, the Kaluga agglomeration – 40%, the Tambov agglomeration – 22%), acreage, gross harvest of agricultural crops, production of milk, meat, eggs, etc.; There is a higher growth rate of key production parameters for the development of this industry and indicators of its intensification. It is proved that these facts were achieved largely due to the manifestation of positive agglomeration effects. Taking into account the current global and national trends in the development of the industry, as well as the principles of vertical and cluster-network integration, strategic priorities and measures have been identified for the implementation of investment projects aimed at implementing the achievements of scientific and technological progress, product diversification of production; increasing the profitability of agriculture through cooperation with other sectors of the agglomeration's economy (primarily tourism); developing the urban agglomeration as a logistics center for the distribution of fruit and vegetable products.
