Suitele lui Aleksandr Mulear: abordare istorico-documentară
The composer Aleksandr Mulear (1922–1994) made valuable contributions to instrumental chamber music in the Republic of Moldova, including the suite genre which was actively explored in the national music of the 1950–1980s. The suites for string quartet signed by the composer harmoniously integrated in the general picture of the autochthonous composition due to the complex interactions between the academic music traditions and the orientation towards folkloric sources. The work proposes a rectification of the typological, chronological and nominative information accumulated in musicology and music historiography about the composer’s suites, based on the processing of several funds and collections of public institutions.
